Roots Montessori Early Learning Centre fuses the Reggio Emilia approach with the Montessori curriculum. While each method has its own strengths, by combining them, educators may provide a more well-rounded education. Because of its emphasis on independent work, practical experience, and group work, Montessori was our top choice. While teachers and school environments provide age-appropriate activities, children exercise their own creativity in the learning process. Children learn and grow to their fullest potential when they work together and on their own to discover and explore the world’s information.
Young children are seen as naturally inquisitive and capable of constructing their own learning under the Reggio Emilia approach. Children benefit most from and have a right to free expression when they are able to engage with others in their communities. The “environment acts as the third factor” in our center, where teachers are also students and creators of new knowledge.
Because of the benefits of both approaches, we at Roots Montessori Early Learning Centre decided to combine both.
Programming:
Our daycare’s curriculum is designed with the children and their interests in mind. Teachers are co-learners with students; they get insight through observing students’ activities and adjusting the classroom accordingly. The child can decide for himself what to do and how to play. At Roots Montessori Early Learning Centre, we treat every child with dignity and listen carefully to their hopes, dreams, and concerns.
